    Attentive compassionate caregivers for cancer

I'm very pleased with Centerwell. Caregivers Tony, Mike, Dhiane and Donna were attentive, kind and went above and beyond during a crisis. Their focused cancer care (including support during glioblastoma recovery), in-home PT/OT, clear communication and help planning future care were professional, compassionate and reliable - I'm grateful and would recommend them.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews portray Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Care at Home as a clinically competent, compassion-driven in-home care provider. Families and clients consistently describe caregivers and clinical staff as respectful, empathetic, and professional, with several accounts highlighting effective coordination around serious illness (including cancer and post-operative recovery). Home-based therapy services (physical and occupational) are repeatedly noted as convenient and beneficial for functional recovery.

Caregiver quality: Caregivers are characterized as warm, attentive, and knowledgeable. Reviewers highlight pleasant interpersonal interactions, responsiveness to immediate needs, and willingness to assist with broader care-planning. Nursing staff and therapists receive specific praise for experience and effectiveness; multiple comments connect therapy visits to measurable health improvements. The overall tone indicates well-trained front-line staff who engage families constructively and maintain a professional bedside manner.

Office communication and management: Office contacts are described as responsive and communicative. Families reference clear, positive interactions with the agency, and several mention that staff provided proactive support during crises. These observations suggest an administrative team that is reachable and capable of coordinating care quickly when circumstances change.

Reliability, scheduling, and continuity: Reviewers emphasize punctuality and reliability for visits, and there are affirmative statements about caregivers being on time and dependable. However, public commentary provides limited detail about caregiver assignment continuity (how consistently the same aides are scheduled) and about the agency’s flexibility with scheduling changes. Prospective clients may want to confirm policies on provider continuity, shift substitutions, and advance-notice scheduling directly with the agency.

Billing, value, and care planning: Satisfaction and willingness to refer indicate a perceived positive value among reviewers. At the same time, there is little explicit information about billing practices, insurance coordination, or how the agency documents long-term outcomes and care-plan updates. Families seeking ongoing, complex care should ask for written explanations of billing, documentation of progress, and how care plans are revised over time.

Notable patterns and recommendations: Strengths cluster around person-centered caregiving, competent in-home therapy, and strong responsiveness in urgent situations. The agency appears particularly capable in supporting cancer-related needs and short-term rehabilitative goals. Areas to clarify before engagement include billing/insurance procedures, formal measures of continuity of caregivers, scheduling flexibility, and how long-term outcomes are tracked. Asking the agency for examples of care plans, continuity policies, and routine communication protocols will help prospective clients translate the positive reviewer experiences into a clear, personalized plan of care.
