House Calls Home Care

    Professional compassionate reliable dementia care

I've used House Calls for in-home care and overall I'm very pleased - the staff are professional, compassionate, and empower you to choose caregivers who are reliable, flexible and competent. Lauren and the office team (Sukta, Cleo, Jade, David, Cheila and others) made intake, CDPAP and Medicaid guidance smooth, communication was responsive, and their dementia and end-of-life support gave us real peace of mind. I would recommend them and feel confident in their care, with only minor room for improvement.

    Summary of reviews

Across the collected summaries, families consistently highlight the quality and demeanor of frontline caregivers. Caregivers are repeatedly described as compassionate, attentive, and respectful; several accounts single out strong performance with dementia care and end-of-life support. Reviewers also praise personalized caregiver matching, caregiver continuity in long-term assignments, and the availability of in-home therapy and rehabilitative services that support independence and daily living skills.

Office-level strengths are also evident. Intake and enrollment staff garner specific praise for knowledge and helpfulness, with multiple named coordinators cited for guiding families through programs and enrollment steps. The agency is noted for providing CDPAP assistance and enabling family caregiving, and for having multiple local branches and bilingual staff, which supports access for diverse households. Many families reported that the agency addresses issues promptly and follows up effectively when problems arise.

Reliability and scheduling present a more mixed picture. While flexible scheduling and the option for adjusting PSW assignments are positive features, reviewers describe occasional onboarding delays, early-start hiccups, and instances where shift confirmations or job-call protocols were inconsistent. These operational weaknesses sometimes produced perceptions of unresponsiveness or long wait times during critical phases of enrollment or early service initiation.

Management and coordination generally receive favorable comments for strong support teams and helpful office managers, but there is evidence of variability between branches and individual staff members. Some families experienced smooth, efficient handling from intake through care delivery, while others encountered slower application timelines or difficulties reaching specific contacts. One reviewer described an aide removal during a shift without prior family notification; that account underscores the broader theme of staffing-coordination gaps rather than establishing a systemic pattern.

Value and overall satisfaction are high among many reviewers. Families emphasize the agency's dedication, respectful treatment of clients and workers, and the practical benefits of CDPAP and caregiver matching. The combination of compassionate caregiving, knowledgeable intake, and a responsive support structure is the dominant impression, tempered by operational areas where the agency could strengthen consistency—particularly in timely communication, shift confirmation protocols, and standardizing practices across branches.

For prospective clients and families: strengths to expect include empathetic caregivers, knowledgeable enrollment support, CDPAP help, and a range of home-health services. Areas to monitor during intake are response times, confirmation of scheduled shifts, and clarity about the onboarding timeline; asking specific questions about how your branch handles shift confirmations and mid-shift staffing changes may reduce the chance of service interruptions.
